GROUP POWER ORIENTATION group power orientation

Jennifer will be hosting a Group Power Orientation in preparation for the new Group Power class that will be held at 8:30 AM on Wednesdays starting January 15.  This orientation is for anyone who would like to learn more about GP.  Group Power is a full body strength training class that uses a barbell, weight plates and a step riser.  Set to dynamic music, GP targets a different muscle group for each song.  Jen will go over how to set up for class, what equipment is needed and how to use it properly, what weight factor is and how to appropriately load your bar for your fitness level.  Come in comfortable, athletic wear.

Join Erin for a restorative yoga class that gets festive! Low lighting, relaxing music and restorative yoga poses will leave you full of relaxed holiday spirit.  This class is designed to give participants space to unwind and relax during the busy holiday season; take this time for yourself!  Please arrive a few minutes early to get your space set up.  No late arrivals please.  All equipment and props are available.

Join Aaron, Tashiana and Season for a New Year Zumba-Thon!  This will be a party for sure with prizes, great music and a workout that will have you smiling from year to year!  Pre-registration is appreciated.  This is a free event, membership is not required.  Friends and family are welcome!

Monica, Jennifer and Noelle will be kicking off the new year with new releases of Group Power and Group Centergy.  These classes are free for the public so bring a friend to try them out!  Equipment is provided.  Sign ups are not necessary.  Group Power at 4:30 PM, Group Centergy at 5:40 PM.

New Expanded Hours!

Bring the kids to the Community Center for some play time while you use the Fitness Center or a fitness class. 

Kids ages 6 months to 10 years.  Parents must remain on site, 2 hours max/visit.  $5 daily drop-in.  Add unlimited childcare to your fitness membership for $15/child/month. 

Schedule below:

Mondays - Fridays: 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM
Mondays - Thursdays: 4:15 PM - 8:00 PM

Need a couple of hours to run errands or catch up with a friend?  Bring the kids for Kids Playtime during drop-in hours and get up to two hours of care from our National Background Checked staff.  $10/session.  Kids Playtime is available for children ages 2-10; children must be potty trained.

Stay on track with your health and fitness goals with Auburn Community Fitness!  Join the instructors you know and love from the Auburn Community & Event Center for a variety of 60-minute classes each week.  Virtual classes are available on-demand in the fitness library. Sign up for your fitness membership by calling the Community Center: 253-931-3043 or stop by the front desk.

The monthly Fitness Membership entitles members to unlimited Fitness classes, open gym programs, unlimited use of the fitness center and full access to Fitness Class Library.  
  • Adults (ages 18 and over): $30/month
  • Seniors (age 50+) or Teens (age 12-17): $25/month*
  • Adult Membership with Unlimited Childcare
    Adult + 1 Child- $45/month 
    Adult + 2 Children- $60/month
    Adult + 3 Children- $75/month

*You may be eligible for a FREE Fitness Membership!  Auburn Community Fitness partners with Silver Sneakers and Optum Health to offer their subscribers a free membership.  Stop by the Community Center front desk to see if your health plan participates and if you are eligible.

INTRODUCTION TO QIGONG WORKSHOP

Qigong is a practice that aims to balance and cultivate vital energy ("Qi") through coordinated breath and movement. No prior experience is needed and the movements are designed to be gentle and adaptable to different abilities. Practicing Qigong can benefit physical health, stress management and mental clarity. Class can be done seated or standing.

SAIL (Stay Active and Independent for Life)

SAIL is a strength, balance and fitness program for adults age 50 and older.  Exercises to improve strength, balance and fitness are the most important activity to stay active and reduce chances of falling.  SAIL consists of a warm up, light aerobics, strength & balance training and cool down.  All exercises can be done seated or standing. 

SAIL is not part of Fitness Membership.  Class is free, contact the Senior Center to register at 253-931-3016.
