Domestic Violence

SafeEach October the City of Auburn recognizes Domestic Violence Awareness Month by dressing city hall plaza with purple ribbons and lights.

The City of Auburn has many resources to support victims/survivors of domestic violence. Our team can also help with immediate shelter needs, talk with victims about what's next in the criminal justice process, and help victims connect to the resources that are available to stay safe. For more information please view a list of additional resources (PDF).

Information for Victims

  • If you are a victim of domestic violence, or are concerned about a family member, friend, co-worker or neighbor, visit the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence victim resource page to get help, find information or for assistance with problem solving.
  • Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE)
VINE is an automated victim notification system that allows victims of domestic violence and other crimes to register to be notified of an inmate's release from jail, and to get information on charges and bail amount. VINE provides information on the custody status of inmates who have been booked into any King County Department of Adult Detention facility.

Victims and the general public will be able to call the VINE system toll-free, to verify whether an inmate is in custody, and register to receive automatic telephone notification upon an inmate's custody status change or obtain information on the VINELink website or call 1-877-425-VINE (8463). Callers will also be provided with information on additional victim assistance services. VINE is available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Tagalog, Chinese and Amharic.
