Added Security For Our Community
Did you know that the footage from the video camera on your home or business could help solve crimes?
When a crime occurs, law enforcement agencies often ask residents and businesses in the area about their video surveillance. This resource has become even more helpful since video security has become less expensive and more widely used, and video quality continues to improve.
To make the most of this resource, the Auburn Police Department is working with the community on a voluntary camera registry. Residents and business owners can provide their camera location and how they would like to be contacted. Officers can then check the registry for cameras in the area of a crime and contact the owners to see if they are willing to look for relevant footage.
IMPORTANT NOTE - Registering a camera does not give direct access to the camera(s). This program is completely voluntary.
