About The Program

The goal of Traffic Safety Program is to reduce speeding and cut through traffic in residential neighborhoods to improve the residents’ quality of life and improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists.

In 2023, we shared the proposed improvements with you and heard your feedback. Based on that feedback, as well as the data we collected, the City is installing measures to support traffic safety in the focus area. These improvements include:

• Traffic circles at the intersections of B St SE and 13th St SE, and B St SE and 15th St SE.
• Install stop signs on 14th St SE and 16th St SE with their intersections with B St SE
• Speed cushions on F St SE, G St SE, H St SE, J St SE, and K St SE.
• Speed limit signs on all streets.

Next Steps:

• Winter 2024 through Summer 2025
  Construction of the improvements

• Fall 2025 or Spring 2026
  Evaluation of the improvements
